Lesson Policies Agreement
TUITION
Lessons are offered in 30-minute, 45-minute, or 60-minute time slots.
If feasible, 15-20 minute introductory lessons can be provided to younger students/siblings. Lesson fees are subject to change. In the event of a fee change, ample notice will be given.
Payment: Payments will be processed monthly via the credit card provided upon lesson registration. At registration/billing account set-up, your credit card will be charged for the number of lessons remaining in that month. Thereafter your monthly payment will be processed on or about the 1st of each month for the number of lessons that are to occur in the given month.
Payment Method: We only accept all major credit cards as a form of payment.
LESSONS AND CANCELLATIONS
Weekly Lessons: Part of the monthly tuition reserves the student a specific day and time slot in the instructor’s schedule. Lessons are one-on-one, and they occur weekly. Be sure to choose a time slot that you are confident works for your family's schedule, as the lesson day and time remain the same each week.
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities: A parent or guardian must be home AT ALL TIMES while the lesson is in progress. The student must be prepared to take the lesson at the scheduled time.
Cancellations/Makeups:
Discontinuing Lessons
We require at least (14) days' notice to discontinue lessons and payment. You must submit a written request to discontinue lessons via email to: [email protected]. Notifying your instructor will not initiate the withdrawal process.
The notice period for discontinuation is fourteen (14) calendar days from the date the written notification is received by Home Sweet Home Music Lessons' Office Staff. During the notice period, students are expected to attend lessons as scheduled.
No refunds or pro-rated fees will be provided for lessons not attended during the notice period.

Instrument Rentals and Purchases
Renting or Purchasing an instrument:
Having an instrument at home is a must!
Instructors can provide a keyboard, guitar, or drums/drum pad for trial lessons.
We will help guide you in your rental or purchase of the proper instrument.
Preparation and Practice
Preparation:
Please prepare all materials (i.e., method books, notebooks, sheet music, music stand, metronome ) for every lesson.
Practice:
Consistent weekly lessons are very important. Of equal importance is a practice routine that takes place regularly. Daily and weekly practice is needed to develop skills, build confidence, and truly learn an appreciation for your instrument..

- 24-Hour Cancellation – 24 hours' notice must be given to request a make-up lesson. Read more about our Make-Up policy below.
- Same-day Cancellation – If the student cancels on the same day as the lesson, the lesson will be forfeited, and there will be no make-up or refund for that lesson. The payment for the canceled lesson cannot be applied to future lessons.
- No Call/No Show – If the student does not provide notice of absence, it is considered a No Call/No Show. There are no make-ups or refunds for No Call/No Shows. The payment for the missed lesson cannot be applied to future lessons.
- Illness and Emergencies – If a student falls ill or has a family emergency and cancels with 24 hours' notice of a scheduled lesson, the student will have a choice to make up the lesson or apply the payment to next month’s lessons. For a same-day illness/emergency cancellation, make-up lesson times will be given at times and dates within the instructor's schedule or can be arranged at any mutually agreeable time. A make-up lesson can also be a longer lesson on your regular day. * Make-up lessons can be completed anytime in the future.
- Make-up Lessons – For lesson cancelations with 24 hours' notice that are not due to an illness or true emergency, make-ups will be given at times and dates within the instructor's schedule or can be arranged at any mutually agreeable time. A make-up lesson can also be a longer lesson on your regular day or an online lesson. * Make-up lessons can be completed anytime in the future and your instructor will work directly with you to schedule.
- Instructor Cancellation – If the instructor needs to cancel a lesson, the student will have a choice to make up the lesson or apply the payment to next month’s lessons.
- Inclement Weather Cancellation - In the event of inclement weather, the student will have a choice to make up the lesson or apply the payment to next month’s lessons.
- Credits - We only offer credits for instructor cancellations, inclement weather cancellations, or if a student has an illness or an emergency.
