Thank you so much Home Sweet Home music for giving our family the gift of music during COVID. We are so thrilled that our son has been able to take lessons virtually via an ipad from our basement and really pick up playing the piano. We've been blown away by how fast he has learned and how inspired he has been by his teacher. And he's not only learning to play the piano, but also about different composers and their contributions to the world. After his lesson on Monday we had a long conversation about Black History Month and composers who have contributed to African American music. My daughter told me that the lessons are so fun. She is happy to be able to continue the lessons while being at home and she doesn’t feel like she is really missing out on much doing them virtually. We love the Home Sweet Home Music Lessons program! It’s for all ages! As a retired music teacher for pre schoolers and a musician myself , I believe the “at home” setting allows the student to really tap into their own sense of musical style and overall sense of expression . No comparisons, no distractions, in their home, at their own pace! The student can benefit tremendously from learning in an already familiar environment. My 3 children, ages 9, 11, and 16, have really benefited from it, on both personal and musical levels. One of my children is very shy and since taking voice and piano lessons at home, as well as performing at their seasonal recitals, she has really come out of her shell in school, participating a lot more in all academic activities. We also love our teacher , Ms Kim. She is knowledgeable, and so talented and she definitely has an amazing ability to tap into my children’s musical needs. She can work extremely well with both their strengths, and with where they need reinforcement. In addition, the program director Adam Kestler, is very caring and I love his vision for his program and what it offers to all students in all different levels of music such as: lessons for many types of instruments, School Jazz Band and Audition preparation lessons, and also music lessons for children with special needs . They operate in a variety of locations and there are many talented teachers available to fit all needs. There is something for everyone! It is really a great platform to explore what the student likes and to find guidance to which music direction to take. Last but not least, the recital setting is so friendly and because of the variety of musical levels amongst the students, it is a huge ice breaker for the new comers . This is the third music lesson service we’ve tried and first virtual for my daughters. My children and Iprefer Home Sweet Home hands down. The virtual setup works great as we’ve been moving around for several months without having to reschedule classes. My children stay attentive, it’s convenient and it has been a seamless process to reschedule, pay and interact in classes. My six year old has had no issues paying attention despite her age and virtual setting. We definitely see progress in her singing and piano playing (she does both in the same session which is an added benefit). We just wanted to say how thrilled we are with our piano lessons at Home Sweet Home Music! Even though the children started their lessons about a month prior to the COVID situation and home schooling, their connection to their teacher is amazing. The children look forward to their lessons even though the lessons are virtual. Like many children, my daughter has been rather anxious during this situation and playing piano has been a wonderful outlet for her; she is so happy playing piano that she requested adding another lesson day so that she can spend more time doing something she loves. We cannot thank HSH enough for hiring wonderful instructors who truly care about their students. Our instructor is an incredibly talented person both musically as well as personally - - she found common ground with each of our children from day one. She is patient and encouraging, and when she speaks it literally sounds like music. We are so happy that our children are benefitting from learning to play an instrument in such a nurturing way. Our 6 year old son has been working with Home Sweet Home Music for the past 6 months. Our teacher is an incredibly talented musician and an expert teacher. As an educator myself, I am always extremely impressed by the subtle ways he builds confidence, engages my son in the learning process and uses precise, child-friendly language to give consistent feedback and build skills. When COVID-19 prevented Home Sweet Home Music from continuing to offer in-home music lessons, Adam and our instructor immediately pivoted to an online platform. My son looks forward to working with his teacher each week more than ever and I have been blown away by the quality of the lessons- from the software used and his home-based music studio setup, to his ability to maintain the highest caliber of teaching and continue to hold my son to high expectations during their time online together….all while allowing space for creativity and fun. My 9 year old has been taking guitar lessons with Home Sweet Home for 2 months and is loving it. He practices all the time and gets excited for every lesson he has. In a pandemic I thought music lessons would be impossible for such a young kid but I was wrong. I absolutely love and recommend Home Sweet Home Music Lessons. Adam is a pleasure to work with... very helpful and makes sure to pair your child with the right teacher. My kids have progressed so well and they look forward to their lesson with their teacher who is so patient and knows how to teach my 6 year old and 8 year old kids.
